Evesham Park

Evesham Park - Entrance

Evesham Park is actually two odd little parks that are connected by a pedestrian bridge that spans Northern Parkway at the intersection with Clearspring Road.  The south side of the park contains a small playground and swings.  The north side of the park is mostly wooded and shaded areas that can be used for small events and for shaded relaxation during hot summers.  Unfortunately, the parks proximity to the traffic noise on Northern Parkway and the poor maintenance at the park does not make it very functional.  Instead, these parks and the pedestrian walkway are probably used more to get across Northern Parkway to access bus stops and the Belvedere Square Market than for actual recreation.

LOCATION

Although I suspect that this park is mostly used by those that live within walking distance, if you want to drive to this park, there are a couple of different access points.  To use the playground on the south side of Northern Parkway, you can park at either Belvedere Square Market or at the corner of Northern Parkway and Clearspring Road

To use the Northern Side of the park, you can park at the Arbor Oaks apartment complex rental office at 811 Dartmouth Road.  When facing the rental office, there is a short path leading to the park on the right of the building.

The park can also be accessed at the intersection of Marjorie Lane and Evesham Avenue

AMENITIES

The park is relatively small.  The playground on the south side of the park is probably around ¼ acre.  The northern side of the park is maybe 1 ½ acres. By way of amenities, there is a playground on the south side of the park. The north side of the park contains a stage and open area for small events, a basketball court and wooded area for picnics and relaxing in the shade.

South side of park –  Playground swings and a running water fountain.

This picture is the grand total of the south side of the park.

North side of the park  – contains a small wooded area with tables for picnics or relaxing, a stage for hosting events and a very poorly maintained basketball court.  When I arrived at the north side of the park on June 14, 2020, only one basketball rim was available as the other was missing and the court surface was in poor shape.
